JP Gold thought he found love with the perfect woman in 2014. He proposed. She said, "Yes."

They were going to be married Nov. 11, but a year ago, they parted ways.

Gold kept the engagement ring tucked away in a desk drawer until recently when he was discussing a similar experience with a friend, according to WXIN.

He decided he would give the ring, a synthetic stone that Gold admits has little resale value, to the right couple for free and posted an ad for it on Craigslist.

"I'm just looking for a genuine display of love and need. If you don't need it, don't ask for it for free," he told WXIN. "If you need it and you're really in love, tell me why. Tell me every great thing about your potential fiance."

"If you really want the ring for free, put some heart and soul into it. Pull at my heartstrings and make me believe in you as a couple. Please let this be for someone who really wants it."

He will sell the ring, a 1.7 ctw trillion-cut moissanite ring set in a 14K white gold band, for about half its value or $550.

However, if the ring is given away, Gold is hoping for an invite to the lucky couple's wedding.

"I didn't get to attend my own," he wrote in the post. "So I want to at least attend yours."
