A Montana man who claimed that a camera system set up beneath a soap dish in his ex-girlfriend’s shower was for watching chickens was convicted of using the device and sentenced to five years in prison.
Terrill Frank Stoltz, 42, said he used the camera to watch chickens that he was cleaning and forgot to remove it, according to the Billings Gazette. He was also convicted of felony drug possession and stalking.
"I don't know that you're necessarily dangerous," District Judge Mary Jane Knisely said, according to the Billings Gazette. "But when you're using, you're scarier, than crap."
The victim noticed a hole beneath a soap tray in her shower after returning from a weeklong trip in late July 2014. Upon further inspection, she noticed a camera lens in the hole. She covered the lens, got out of the shower and saw Stoltz walking away with camera equipment, according to the Billings Gazette.
The woman had allowed Stoltz to continue living with her even though they had broken up six months earlier.
