Shots rang out late Sunday as protesters took to the streets of Ferguson, Missouri, to mark the anniversary Michael Brown's death.
According to The Associated Press, officers shot back after coming under "heavy gunfire." The AP reported that a photographer saw a man "lying face down, covered in blood." Police said in a news conference that a man was in "critical, unstable" condition at the hospital and undergoing surgery.
