Six people were killed when a small plane crashed near Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Sunday.

The plane was flying from Kissimmee, Florida, to Oxford, Mississippi, when the pilot reported engine trouble and asked for an emergency landing, according to WIAT. The crash happened about 1,000 feet from the runway where the pilot was trying to land, according to WBRC.

The victims — Lea and Jason Farese, Angie and Austin Poole and Kim and Michael Perry — were traveling home to Oxford after attending a dental convention in Florida.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
