In February, Jon Stewart announced that he would be leaving the anchor desk at "The Daily Show." It hadn't been clear which day he would leave the show until his announcment at the end of his broadcast Monday evening.

In the announcement, he indicates that his last day will be Aug 6.

Stewart has hosted "The Daily Show" for 16 years, starting in 1999. Trevor Noah is slated to replace Stewart. Noah is a 31-year-old South African comedian and has contributed to the show in the past.
