A suburban Philadelphia burglary suspect shot by a neighbor after allegedly masturbating, breaking into two apartments and tussling with a dog is a successful horse-racing jockey.
The Philadelphia Daily News reports 21-year-old Angel Suarez won a horse race at Bensalem's Parx Racing just hours before Sunday's rampage.
The Associated Press reports Bensalem police say Suarez stole a dachshund from a woman who confronted him as he touched himself on her balcony. However the owner of the dog told the Daily News that she believes her two dogs were attacking Suarez and that one of them fell out of the second-story window during the struggle.
The dog, Ollie, remains missing but was spotted Tuesday, according to the Daily News.
According to police reports, a neighbor shot Suarez as he tried breaking into another apartment. Suarez's agent tells the newspaper he's in an induced coma with liver and pancreas injuries.
Friends suggested the usually good-natured Suarez was on drugs. He faces burglary, assault and other charges.
The Puerto Rico native has won 297 of 2,232 races and earning millions of dollars for owners since turning professional in 2012.
