One lucky ticket sold in Indiana on Friday won the highest jackpot ever claimed by a single ticket in Mega Millions history, according to lottery officials.

A single ticket matched all six numbers in Friday's drawing: 8, 19, 20, 55 and 73, along with Mega Ball No. 5.

The prize is worth an estimated $540 million, or $381 million cash. It's the third highest jackpot in Mega Millions history and the third jackpot win of the year. In January, a single ticket bought in New York won a $169 million jackpot. A family in Washington claimed a $157 million jackpot in March.

Friday's prize is the largest so far this year after it went unclaimed for four months.

Seven other tickets won Mega Millions players $1 million each in Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey and Oklahoma. Three winning tickets also included the optional Megaplier number, which in this case doubled the worth of the tickets from $1 million to $2 million. Those winning tickets were sold in Colorado, Florida and Kansas.

The estimated jackpot was revised down to $15 million after Friday's win. The next drawing is scheduled for Tuesday.
