Two people were injured Wednesday when a helicopter fell short of a landing pad in New York City and crashed into the Hudson River, according to police.
Police said the pilot, who was one of two people injured in the crash, was out of the water after the accident happened around 2:45 p.m. local time. The pilot and a person on the ground, identified as a heliport worker, had injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening from the crash.
Firefighters said the pilot was the only person on board the helicopter when it went down near West 30th Street.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
