A passenger jet taxiing down a runway after arriving from Mexico City collided with a utility truck injuring eight people Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport, airport officials said.
None of the 149 passengers or crew aboard the AeroMexico flight were injured, although one complained of pain after getting off the plane, the airport said in a statement.
The cause of the collision is unknown and the accident is under investigation. The aircraft will remain at the airport pending a review of its flight worthiness by AeroMexico officials.
The truck flipped over and the right wing of the Boeing 737 was damaged in the accident around 2:30 p.m. There was no fire and no fuel spilled.
"We just came to an abrupt stop and there was a really loud thud. We were actually seated right next to the emergency exit and we had a pretty good view of it and there was a truck tipped over on its side," passenger Kole Chadwick told KABC.
Six men and two women in the truck were taken to various hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. All eight were listed in stable condition.
