A 10-hour plane delay last week paid off for a woman on a Chinese flight.
BuzzFeed News reported that Zhang, who asked to be identified only by her last name for privacy, shared the story on a Chinese social media site, Weibo.
"Today I flew from Wuhan to Guangzhou, I was the solo passenger." Zhang wrote on Weibo. "That's right. Just me and the whole crew. I'm feeling like a nouveau riche."
Most passengers were leaving Guangzhou, a city in south China, to go home to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
With so many passengers leaving Guangzhou and Zhang going to Guangzhou, she a few other passengers were the only ones on the flight.
When a blizzard delayed the flight 10 hours, most passengers canceled or opted to get on an earlier flight.
Zhang did not.
When she finally boarded the plane, Zhang said a flight attendant greeted her by saying, "This is your private flight."
"The whole journey was nothing special," Zhang said. "Same broadcasts. Only that no flight attendants were running around like usual."
But Zhang got all the meals she wanted, sat in a seat of her choice in economy class and shared tangerines with a crew member.
For most of the trip, Zhang slept. When she got off the plane, a flight attendant held an umbrella for her.
