Mary Dinger let the man sit in the back of her car. They called a medic, to make sure he wasn’t frostbitten. That’s when a state trooper took the man to a McDonald’s to eat.

“He was a nice man, bout my age late 30s early 40s and his name was Adam. I immediately pulled over and ran to him,” Dinger told KMSP.

State police trooper Glen Bihler arrived at the scene to assist.

"He said he hadn't eaten since yesterday morning," Bihler told KMSP. "He said he hasn't eaten since yesterday morning."

The trooper then took the man to the lobby of the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office so the man could get some rest.

“That’s the only place in the county that’s open, so that’s where he spent the night,” said Bihler.

Dinger says she’s grateful for the trooper’s kindness.

“Was very kind of him. That was beyond his job calling, so I appreciate that. That was wonderful,” said Dinger.
