A 15-year-old Indiana girl was riding in the car with her family Sunday after spending time at the family's lake house.
During the ride, Mia Simper snacked on sunflower seeds, breaking the shells in her mouth and tossing the shells out the car window. She thought the wind would carry the shells somewhere where they'd land in dirt and ultimately decompose.
But she was wrong.
At some point during the ride, Simper turned around to check on her little sister, only to find that many of the sunflower shells had been pushed by the wind back into the car and onto her sleeping sister, Ella.
"I didn't know my sister's window was open or that the seeds were flying back into her face but it was really funny," Simper told Buzzfeed.
Simper said her family often gets caught up in funny situations.
"This is the first time I’ve actually captured it in the moment, so I absolutely had to post it," she said. "I always post pictures and videos of my sister on Snapchat and stuff, but to watch my post go viral like this was crazy. And all of my friends' reactions and comments were priceless."
Simper said her littler sister is handling the newfound fame well.
"She was excited at first, but the more people brought it up, she was like, 'Yeah, yeah, I know I'm famous,'" Simper said.
