Josilyn Martin loves Barbie dolls so much, she wanted every little girl to have one.

"I went to the park with my grandma. I brought my Barbie with me, and I saw a girl and I wanted to play with her," she tells DNAInfo.com. "I went up to her and asked if she had any Barbies, she said no and then I asked if she wanted mine. When I got home I asked (my) mommy if I could (make) a law, and she said I couldn't. I wanted that law to be that every girl should have a little Barbie."

So when she got home, she wanted to give away her Barbies to girls in need. When her mother told her she couldn't, she decided to collect dolls to give away.

"I really don't know what to think about it," her mother, Kellie Martin, told WTHR. "As a parent, I'm learning from her -- having the heart of a child, the innocence, just being pure of heart and thought. It's a big deal; I think it's great."

Jocilyn's goal is to give 1,000 Barbies to Chicago children. She is almost halfway to her goal.

The 8-year-old girl had a Barbie drive Dec. 12 and collected 400 Barbies and raised $600. Those who want to help her achieve her goal can email her mother at kelliec.martin@gmail.com to find out where to mail a doll, or they can use the email address to send a PayPal donation.
