An 11-year-old girl's stick figure drawing helped police in Connecticut arrest a burglary suspect, Pittsburgh's WPXI and The Palm Beach Post report.
According to WVIT, Rebecca DePietro of Stratford, Connecticut, drew the sketch for police after they arrived at her house a few months earlier "asking if she'd seen anything or anyone suspicious."
“It wasn’t, like, the best picture," she said. "It was just a head and some legs, and I thought, 'Oh, he’s probably just going to crumple it up and throw it out.'"
Police were able to take the doodle and match it up to a picture of the suspect. They then arrested Pedro Bruno, who reportedly confessed to 10 burglaries – including one at Rebecca's house. Police were also able to recover some of the items the suspect allegedly took.
Rebecca was honored by the Stratford Police Department on Tuesday for her “detective work.”
