Lydia Ziegler started leaving a cooler filled with drinks and snacks, as well as an uplifting note, after noticing a carrier drowning in sweat earlier this summer, WQAD reported.

The gesture was appreciated. The mail carriers, the Moline postmaster and the postmaster general sent her letters.

"I was so shocked. My mind was blown," Lydia told WQAD. "I was so happy, I was about to scream."

Lydia’s not done yet. She is considering switching out the cold drinks for hot chocolate in the winter.
