It may look like a sheep and a pig had a baby, but these fluffy pigs are, in fact, pigs.

Mangalica pigs are domesticated pigs that were nearly extinct after they were initially bred in the 1800s for their lard.

The Dodo reported that the pigs come from Hungary and resemble other breeds of pigs that used to be exceptionally hairy, but have gone extinct.

Now, breeders are raising Mangalica pigs for their meat, since they produce pork marbled with fat.

The industry has been buzzing about these pigs since 2014, but they're only recently picking up steam with the masses.

Breeder Wilhelm Kohl told "Modern Farmer" that the animal that is known as the "Kobe beef of pork" can be quite friendly.

"If you treat them nicely, they'll become as tame as dogs. They'll follow you and play with you."

But that's not what these fluffy pigs are for.

"Don't misunderstand me, we don't recommend that people buy them for that," Wilhelm said. "These are livestock, but some people seem to use them as pets as well."
