A Florida man was severely burned when he fell into a bonfire Friday night, authorities said.

According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, the man suffered second- and third-degree burns to 20% of his body, WTSP reported.

The incident occurred in Zephyrhills around 9:55 p.m., according to WFLA.

Officials did not say how the man fell into the blaze, WFTS reported.

The man was airlifted to an area hospital as a trauma alert, WTSP reported.

There is no word on the man's condition.
