Hayley Brown had thick, long, beautiful eyelashes. The kind everyone complimented, but were secretly jealous of.
Then one day the 7-year-old complained about something in her eye. Her brown lashes starting coming out all at once, according to Kidspot.
She was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her nose in June and started chemotherapy treatments about a week later. While her hair fell out soon after starting, her eyelashes held on a bit longer, especially one in particular.
Her father, Australian comedian Andrew Brown, shared the image of his daughter's last eyelash.
"That one last eyelash has been hanging on, on its own, for a few weeks now," he wrote in an Oct. 30 Facebook post.
It fell out three weeks later, according to the Herald Sun.
"She doesn't really realize they're gone, people stopped talking about them. She probably doesn't even know her eyebrows are practically gone," he told Kidspot.
However, her weight loss and lack of energy is noticeable.
The location of the tumor makes it difficult for Hayley to eat. She has lost more than 4 pounds since starting treatment. Her body is weak.
"She has weakness in her legs, at the moment I am carrying her around everywhere," Andrew told Kidspot. "The hardest thing is seeing her now after being so full of life."
Her treatments continue for another five weeks. Already scans reveal the tumor has reduced in size.
