It’s the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December in a presidential election year, so we  all know what that means – Electoral College day.

As per the Constitution, electors in 50 states (plus  the District of Columbia) will meet today to cast their votes and choose the next president of the United States. If the electors vote the way their states did – something  they are supposed to do – Donald Trump will win the presidency with 306 Electoral College votes to Hillary Clinton’s 232. Trump must win 270 to win the election.
