According to Today.com, Harold's granddaughter, a waitress, set up the meeting. She served Miriam at a restaurant last week.

"My Jenny was so impressed with Miriam's pep and vigor that she said, 'You'd make a great date for my grandfather!'" Sharlin said.

Miriam lost her husband in 1999 and hasn’t dated since, saying, “I loved him, and I didn’t look for anyone else after that.”

Harold also lost his wife in 1998.

When the two met at the bookshop for their date, a smitten store worker couldn’t help but snap a photo of the couple with their walkers.

"We're not crying. We just have something in our eye," the bookstore wrote on Facebook alongside the photo.

One thing’s for sure: This couple gives us hope that it’s never too late to find love.
