An Everett school bus driver is on administrative leave after students say they got sick when the driver refused to let them roll down the windows during record heat.
The Everett Herald reports that the incident happened Tuesday afternoon the way home from Emerson Elementary School.
One parent says it got so hot that her daughter began vomiting. The 7-year-old says she's scared to ride the bus now.
The school is investigating the driver, who works for Durham School Services.
The principal sent a letter to parents last night letting them know about the incident.
The day after the incident, the bus company's safety instructor drove the route with the windows down, fans running and bottled water readily available.
