Four years of drought has made an impact on California, and now many people, not only on the west coast, but across the country are trying to find ways to cut down on water usage.
The New York Times reached out this week to readers in California for surviving using less water.
Some shower once a week, and instead of washing their hands, turn to hand sanitizer. Others take shorter, cooler showers and collect that shower water to use on plants and washing cars.
