A dog in Lawrenceville, Georgia, needs help after his homeless owner left a note saying they could no longer properly care for him and that he deserved a better home.

The Gwinnett County Animal Shelter posted on a volunteer-run Facebook page that Cletus was abandoned on a playground with the heartbreaking note.

The note reads, "My name is Cletus!! My owner decided she could not keep me anymore because she does not have a place to stay. I am a very good dog. I'm 11-years-old but I still play like a puppy. I don't chew anything but food. I'm house broken. I'm great with kids. I play, catch Frisbees, and love to give hugs. Can you please help me find a home? I don't want to go to the shelter."

Cletus is currently at the shelter and needs a great, loving home.

The shelter says he is not aggressive towards the two dogs that were placed in kennels next to him.

"He enjoyed a walk around the lake and loved watching the ducks! Afterwards, he enjoyed a game of catch the tennis ball in a bonding pen," the shelter said.

His pen number is 144 with an animal ID of 51364.

The Gwinnett County Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter, but due to his age, he risks being at the shelter a long time.
