Salvation Army employees in Warren, Ohio, near Cleveland, made a shocking discovery when one of the bags that had been dropped off started moving.
A worker found a dog in a donated bag at the Salvation Army's thrift store, WFMJ reported.
Daisy, as she's being called, was picked up by an animal advocate who took her to a veterinarian to have her checked out.
She had flea dermatitis but was treated for it and received other vaccinations, WFMJ reported.
Daisy had no tags or a microchip, and authorities are looking for any information to lead them to who dropped her off at the organization, WFMJ reported.
