Disney donates $1 million to Orlando nightclub shooting victims

Disney World is supporting the Orlando, Florida, community to the tune of $1 million.
The Walt Disney Company announced Tuesday that it made a $1 million cash commitment to the OneOrlando Fund.
The OneOrlando Fund was established by Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer to help those affected by the Pulse nightclub shooting that happened Sunday.
The fund will help families of victims and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, Hispanic and religious communities in addition to "other needs we cannot anticipate until we face them," according to the OneOrlando website.
In addition to committing the large sum, Disney World said it is providing free accommodations for family and friends of the victims.
The Huffington Post reported that Disney World, which is the largest employer in the area, is matching eligible donations by employees dollar by dollar.
The park will also set up five blood donation centers throughout the resort property for employees who want to contribute.
"We are heartbroken by this tragedy and hope our commitment will help those in the community affected by this senseless act," Bob Chapek, chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said in a statement. "With 74,000 Cast Members who call Orlando home, we mourn the loss of the victims and offer our condolences to their families, friends and loved ones."
