Designers of Ivanka Trump's fashion line don't get paid parental leave, report says

At the Republican National Convention last month in Cleveland, Ivanka Trump spoke about the need for "policies that allow women with children to thrive" in the work force – but a company connected with her fashion line apparently didn't get the memo.

According to the Washington Post, New York-based G-III Apparel Group, which designs Ivanka Trump clothing, "does not offer workers a single day of paid maternity leave." The company instead offers 12 weeks of unpaid leave, the legal minimum.

One G-III employee, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the Post, "It's hard enough emotionally to come back to work right after having a baby, but to know you're returning to a company that doesn't value your choice to be a mother makes it harder."

A representative for the Ivanka Trump brand told Fortune that G-III isn't owned by Trump and also works with Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Jessica Simpson brands. Trump's company allows eight weeks of paid family leave and flexible hours, the representative said.
