A Bradenton man was arrested on Christmas Eve after deputies said he drove drunk to a bar and left his 18-month-old child alone in the car before forgetting where he parked it.
Justin Miante, 30, was at a shopping mall with his mother, girlfriend, and child when he got into an argument with the girlfriend, Danielle Judd, and left his mother and Judd at the mall in an intoxicated state, WFLA reports. Judd went to Miante's mother's home, where she received a call that he was "extremely intoxicated" at a Bradenton-area bar with their child.
Deputies said Miante went into the bar to drink a shot and left the child for 20 to 30 minutes with the vehicle locked and not running. Judd confronted Miante at the bar at 8 p.m. where the couple got into another argument that became physical, deputies added.
The child was recovered from the vehicle unharmed after Miante was unable to find his vehicle because of his intoxicated state, WFLA reports. He was arrested on charges of child neglect and domestic battery and was released from Manatee County Jail after posting $4,000 bond.
