In January, concerned parent Destiny Kitchen sent a letter to the school’s principal outlining the bullying her son had gone through.
Weeks later, Blake Kitchen was beaten unconscious by the same boy Destiny warned the school about.
“My ear hurts. My jaw hurts. My back hurts and that’s all,” Blake told FOX 4 News.
Blake has Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism.  Blake prefers routine during meals, and likes to sit at the same place in the cafeteria every day.  When another boy moved Blake’s belongings to a different seat, Blake asked him to move. That’s when the beating began.
Blake suffered a fractured skull, a jawline fracture and an ear injury that may require surgery. The boy initially spent four days in the hospital, but had to return due to a bleeding issue.
“It makes me sad and angry to see him have that moment of terror,” Destiny said. “To listen to him cry and say, ‘Mommy I’m going to die. Please don’t let me die, I’m not ready.’ It could have been avoided,” she continued.
Destiny claims the boy who beat her son has a history of suspensions. The alleged attacker is an 8th grader who weighs more than 200 pounds.
The Liberty School District said the incident is being reviewed and the school is cooperating with police.
The alleged attacker is being held at a juvenile detention facility.
