An Ohio family is dealing with a loss over a misunderstanding Tuesday.
WCPO reported that a 14-year-old boy was shot by his father in the neck when he came home.
He was skipping school and snuck back in the house.
According to police Sgt. Joe Briede, the incident took place around 6:30 a.m.
The boy was shot in the neck by his father when he came in the house through the basement level and walked up the stairs.
The boy’s father called 911 after the shooting.
The boy was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital and later died.
His father is being questioned by police.
