An ad in the San Francisco Police Officers Association Journal is drawing criticism as some say it is making light of the Black Lives Matter movement, which works to campaign against police brutality.
KGO reported that an ad contained a photo showing a black labrador retriever and a yellow labrador retriever, with signs saying, "black labs matter" and "all labs matter," respectively, is drawing attention.
Next to the picture was the sentence, "Maybe it's time we all just sit back and tone down the rhetoric."
According to the ad, the photo was shared by a friend and supporter of the organization.
Sgt. Yulanda Williams, president of Officers for Justice, is an organization within the San Francisco police force which represents non-white police force members, told SF Gate the photo "once again shows a severe lack of understanding."

"It's so inflammatory, and they still don't get it," Williams said. "They still choose to inflame situations, and it's just really insulting."
"Right now, what's going on in San Francisco (and) across the United States -- nothing is funny about that," NAACP Vice President Shawn Richard told KGO.
"I talked to the sergeant of arms of the POA and he was very apologetic," Richard said.
San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee said he would "probably would have chosen a little different path."
KGO reported the POA had no comment.
