Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders addressed his followers in a live speech Thursday, promising them that the political revolution will continue.
“That’s what this campaign has been about,” Sanders said, pointing to his early skeptics who counted him out, adding “our vision for the future of this country is not some kind of fringe idea.”
While Sanders promised to keep fighting on, he often cited that he is now uniting with Clinton in an effort to band together against likely Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
“This campaign is also about beating Donald Trump,” Sanders said in his speech, saying that for Trump, “bigotry is the cornerstone of his campaign.”
Sanders told supporters he will fight to ensure “your voices are heard,” and noted that he “looks forward to working with Secretary Clinton in transforming the Democratic Party.”
The goal is to be “reversing the drift towards oligarchy,” Sanders said.
