High winds at Fenway Park caused a monitor in the broadcast booth to fall onto a baseball television announcer's head on Saturday.

Jerry Remy left the broadcast booth around 7:30 p.m. and was checked out and cleared by a team doctor, fellow NESN announcer Dave O'Brien said.

"We didn't want him coming on the air. He wanted to return to the air. We told him to go home because he took quite the knock on the head," O'Brien said.

Remy is expected to recover.

"(Remy) wanted to return to the air. He's OK, no cut or anything like that," O'Brien said during the broadcast. "We're asking (Remy) to take the rest of the night off."
