An Arkansas man is accused of holding his 12-year-old daughter's head underwater until she lost consciousness, KAIT reported.

The girl was flown to a Little Rock hospital after the alleged incident July 4, the television station reported.

Christopher Cope, 29, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree domestic battery, interference with law enforcement, resisting arrest and intimidating a witness, KATV reported. Authorities said he held his daughter underwater until she was "unconscious and foaming at the mouth."

The girl's mother, Elizabeth Cope, 32, was also arrested on suspicion of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest and interference with a law enforcement officer, KAIT reported.
