According to Bloomberg, Anonymous "hactivists" are using the age-old "rickrolling" meme – in which a person pretends to hyperlink to one site but instead links to the video for Astley's 1987 song "Never Gonna Give You Up" – to disrupt the terrorist group's efforts to create threads and trending topics on social media.
"Our upcoming action: spamming verified ISIS hashtags with rickrolls," @OpParisOfficial, the Twitter account for Anonymous' campaign against ISIS in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, posted last week. "Will release the list as soon as it's compiled."
Anonymous, which declared war against the terrorist group after the Nov. 13 attacks, also recently posted "how-to" guides so those new to hacking can help them take down ISIS websites.
