A teen in Lakeland stopped a man from robbing him at knifepoint after striking him with a tire iron Friday, The Ledger.com reports.
According to Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the 17-year-old was sitting in a car outside a Sunoco gas station waiting for his mother when a man came up to him on the driver’s side with a knife and said “give me some gas money.” The boy refused and got out of the car and went inside the store. When the teen and his mom walked out to their car a short time later the same man, later identified as Luther Dunn, 32, went up to the boy again, according to the police report.
