Adele said she isn't interested in performing at the Super Bowl because, "Come on, that show is not about music."
"I know I'm not Beyoncé. I can't dance or anything like that," the 28-year-old singer told an audience Saturday at a Los Angeles concert.
The Grammy-winning artist said the NFL asked her to be a part of Super Bowl LI in Houston on Feb. 5, 2017.
"They were really kind. They did ask me, but I did say no," she said. "I'm sorry, but maybe next time."
Adele joked that she would consider performing at the popular sports event when she releases another album.
Adele's third studio album, "25," was released last November and was the best-selling album of the year in the U.S.
The NFL and Super Bowl sponsor Pepsi released a joint statement Sunday, denying claims that Adele was offered a spot during next year's halftime show.
"The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show," the statement reads. "However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time."
Coldplay, Beyoncé and Bruno Mars performed at 2016’s halftime show. Beyoncé released her album "Lemonade" two months after performing the album's lead single at Super Bowl 50.
