Police in New York City arrested actor Alec Baldwin on Friday after a dispute over a parking spot became heated, according to multiple reports.

The incident happened Friday afternoon on East 10th Street near Union Square West, WCBS reported.

Police told WABC that the "30 Rock" and "Saturday Night Live" actor is accused of punching a person who took a parking spot that he was trying to hold for himself just outside his building on East 10th Street.

Baldwin hit the victim once in the left side of the face, WNBC reported. The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment after complaining of pain, according to the news station.

Baldwin was being held Friday afternoon at the New York Police Department's 6th Precinct, according to WABC. The news station reported that he was expected to be charged with third-degree assault.
