One Nevada lawmaker is making a statement with her family Christmas card photo, and the message is generating controversy.
The photo is actually part of a 2016 calendar for supporters.
On Facebook, Republican Assemblywoman Michele Fiore posted the image of her family posing for a holiday photo while armed with an array of guns. Even Fiore’s young grandson appears to be holding a gun.
Fiore wrote, “It’s up to Americans to protect America. We’re just your ordinary American family.”
The image also includes the names of each kind of gun family members are carrying.
The post was sent after the Planned Parenthood shooting in Colorado Springs but before the mass shooting in San Bernardino.
