Chelsea Clinton's first name comes from a 1969 song
A 1993 New York Times article published ahead of Bill Clinton's first inauguration said Chelsea Clinton's first name was inspired by Judy Collins' 1969 single "Chelsea Morning."
Her Secret Service code name was "Energy"
She earned the nicknme when she was First Kid during her father's presidency because she was so active and involved in extracurricular activites as a teenager. Chelsea Clinton was in Model United Nations, performed in theater and ballet and went to math camp.
She's been married for nearly six years
Chelsea Clinton married her longtime boyfriend, investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, in a private ceremony on July 31, 2010. She wore a Vera Wang-designed gown and was walked down the aisle by her father in front of 400 guests in Rhinebeck, New York. The two met as teens at a Renaissance Weekend retreat in South Carolina.
She is a mother of two
Chelsea Clinton and her husband welcomed her first child, a daughter named Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky, on Sept. 26, 2014. She and Mezvinsky's second child, a son named Aidan Clinton Mezvinsky, was born June 18.
She is vice chair of the Clinton Foundation
Chelsea Clinton works in a leadership position at the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. According to the foundation's website, she works as an advocate for the organization, which, among other things, works on climate change issues and giving access to medicine to people in different regions of the world. She has been a correspondent on NBC
A 2014 Politico report claimed Chelsea Clinton was paid $600,000 by NBC when her contract was up for renewal that year. Clinton had been a special correspondent for the network since November 2011. Before then, she joined the consulting firm of McKinsey & Company in New York City.
She is a published author
Chelsea Clinton released a 400-page book called "It's Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired and Get Going" targeted toward middle school children in 2015. It was met with some mixed reviews.
Despite the tense presidential campaign between their parents, Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump are friendly
In an interview with "Extra," Clinton said she and Ivanka Trump, daughter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump are on good terms. "It has nothing to do with politics. We were friends before this election, we'll be friends after this election."
"We are (friendly)," Ivanka Trump told People magazine. "There's certainly tremendous intensity around both of our lives right now … . We also continue to have great respect for one another."
