Several celebrations of the life of Congressman John Lewis started Saturday and will continue into the week as the nation mourns his death.

Civil rights icons, politicians and private citizens alike took to social media to reflect on his life as Lewis is honored. A six-day celebration begins in Troy, Alabama, at Troy University and will end in a private funeral at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.
