Four people were found dead over the weekend inside an SUV that was abandoned in a Wisconsin cornfield, authorities said.

A 911 caller alerted the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office to the scene about 2:18 p.m. Sunday, according to reports.

The black SUV with Minnesota license plates was parked off a rural road in the town of Sheridan, about 77 miles west of Green Bay.

News station KY3 identified the victims as 35-year-old Loyace Foreman III; 26-year-old Matthew Isiah Pettus; 30-year-old Jasmine Christine Sturm, all of St. Paul, Minnesota; and 30-year-old Nitosha Lee Flug-Presley of Stillwater, Minnesota.

All four died from gunshot wounds, the station reported.

The exact time of their deaths was unclear.

In a Monday Facebook post, sheriff’s officials said the victims did not appear to have any connection to the area. Police also said at one point there may have been a second dark-colored SUV traveling with the vehicle that was abandoned.

As of Tuesday, no suspects or arrests had been announced.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of these victims,” Dunn County Sheriff Kevin Bygd said, according to KY3. “I wish we could release more details of our investigation, but we have to balance the public’s desire to know the details with running the risk of harming our investigation and losing evidence for building a good homicide case.”

The Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation and the Wisconsin State Patrol are assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with information in the case should call the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office at 715-232-1348.
