Memorial Day weekend has brought some nice weather after a week of rain in metro Atlanta and that should continue on Monday.

However, while there was no chance of rain Saturday and Sunday, parts of metro Atlanta could see a shower or two later on the holiday.

“Monday we’ll see a few clouds early in the day,” said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon, “but still a good deal of sunshine.”

Temperatures hit the 80s over the holiday weekend and Monday has an expected peak of 87.

That means parades and other ceremonies planned to cap the three-day weekend likely can continue the trend of going on as scheduled to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the country.

“It’s going to be just after the lunch hour and into the early part of the evening when we could see an isolated shower or storm popping up,” Deon said.

She said most areas should stay on the dry side.
