A 26-year-old man was killed early Monday after he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree in Fulton County, police said.

Derrick Stallworth, of Atlanta, was driving a maroon Pontiac Grand Prix northeast on Wendell Drive at about 4 a.m. when he lost control and crashed near the 4000 block of Wendell Drive, said Fulton County police Detective Melissa Parker.

Stallworth was unresponsive at the scene and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash also caused a water pipe to break, police said.

No further information was immediately available.
