The man found dead early Tuesday in Bartow County was identified as Robert Ashley Carr, 36, of White, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Carr had been shot multiple times inv the upper torso with a small-caliber handgun, according to deputies.

Residents called police around 6:45 a.m. after seeing a body on the ground outside Woodright Industries on Highway 411, just north of Cartersville, according to Lt. Robert Moultrie.

No weapon was found at the scene, but several shell casings were located, Moultrie said.

An autopsy will be conducted at the GBI crime lab.
