Man arrested after jumping on tracks at Five Points MARTA station
Service was delayed on MARTA’s East-West line for about 20 minutes Saturday afternoon following the arrest of a man who allegedly jumped onto the tracks at the Five Points station.
According to MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris, about 1:34 p.m. a 25-year-old man jumped from the center platform onto the tracks.
Service on the East-West line was delayed as authorities de-energized the line to allow for police to jump onto the track, Harris said. Once they did, they were able to arrest the man shortly thereafter.
The man, who has not yet been identified, is currently in the Fulton County Jail on charges of obstruction and criminal trespassing, Harris said.
