A groundbreaking ceremony will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the Youth Center for Excellence at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta.
The church at 3000 Webb Bridge Road celebrating its 144th year in ministry and is one of the fastest-growing historically African American congregations in North Fulton County. St. James has nearly 3,000 members. The south campus’ new Youth Center for Excellence is an 11,000-square-foot facility that expands faith-based, cultural arts, sports, academic enrichment, counseling and leadership programs to youth.
