A 70-year-old inmate was found dead in the Fulton County jail early Saturday.
Initial reports from jail medical staff indicate the inmate died from a chronic illness.
The inmate was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital around 3 a.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead around 4 a.m., Fulton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said.
Jail officials did not identify the inmate and are working to notify his family.
The man was being held on felony charges. No further details were released.
