When Tyson Griggs made it home from the hospital Friday, he enjoyed three things he hadn't had in a while.
"Chicken nuggets and french fries and tacos!" the boy said.
Channel 2 Action News first shared the story of 8-year-old Tyson Griggs in January when he was rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke while recovering from brain surgery.
The 8-year-old finally walked away from the hospital on Friday.
On Sunday, Tyson was finally throwing around the football at his best friend's birthday party.
He's still a year away from playing in the Kell Youth Football League, again.
In January, his friends at Kell High School and Keheley Elementary School started the hashtag #TysonStrong, and dedicated the proceeds from a basketball game to raise money for him.
"Without the help of our football family, our Kell family, our Keheley family, none of it would have been possible," Tyson's mother Angela Griggs said.
She hopes her son is finished with brain surgeries, but says he's a month away from being able to go back to school.
