Police are looking for a Marietta man accused of buying a $3,000 plane ticket with a stolen identity.
Robert Butler Wagner, 46, is accused of using the Woodstock victim’s personal information to get a credit card in both his name and the victim’s name, police said.
Wagner misspelled his last name, police said, listing himself as “Wager” on the credit card.
He bought a ticket for an international flight under the name Robert Wager.
But when TSA officials caught the discrepancy between his passport – which had his actual name – and the ticket, he was forced to change his name on the ticket.
It is unclear where Wagner was going or whether he actually boarded the flight.
Police believe Wagner is still in the Atlanta area. He also has arrest warrants in Cobb County for probation violation, police said.
Investigators ask that anyone with information about Wagner’s whereabouts is asked to call the Woodstock police at 770-592-6030.
