A new surface, restriping and capacity increased to about 190 spaces – including three additional handicapped spaces – are among the improvements recently finished at Woodstock’s largest downtown public parking lot.

The City Center parking lot work was paid for by Downtown Development Authority funds from recent real estate transactions, city officials said. The project also included a new sidewalk along Towne Lake Parkway. New lighting and landscaping are to be completed in the coming months.

“We felt that the improvements will go a long way to tie in this large parking facility, which in the past has felt remote, to the activity in downtown and provide visitors and employees a safer alternative when coming to visit or work,” said Woodstock Mayor Donnie Henriques.

Woodstock currently has more than 1,100 public parking spaces downtown and at Chattahoochee Technical College, all served by the Woodstock Trolley. Additional parking is planned, to be funded by the SPLOST voters approved last November. Information: https://wdstk.ga/DTparking
